Ambassadors: Anky van Grunsven

Anky van Grunsven needs no introduction. She dominated every international dressage competition for years and won every possible medal she could with her partner Bonfire. She was awarded the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, repeated that performance with Salinero in Athens in 2004, and again at Hong Kong in 2008. Furthermore she won the World Cup with Bonfire five times between 1995 and 2000. In 2004, 2005, and 2006 she won the World Cup finals with IPS Salinero. In 2005 she was the first Dutch female to win at CHIO Aachen and only one year later she won the gold medal in that same arena for her freestyle during the World Equestrian Games.
Anky van Grunsven made the dressage sport enormously popular in the Netherlands and many other countries all over the world. She was named ‘Rider of the Year’ 8 times between 1993 and 2009 and was even called ‘Rider of the Century’ in 2000. She won the World Equestrian Games in The Hague in 1994 and after that she was named sportswoman of the year in the Netherlands. Anky is ambassador of the Rabobank Talentplan.
