Dr. Cesar Parra, part of the recent gold medal American Pan Am Team, is looking forward to the new year as he will have two new amazing young horses in his stable. Parra, an international dressage rider who started his career riding for Colombia before becoming a United States citizen, said the new superstar horses have amazing potential.
'The sky is the limit with these two new young horses', Parra said. 'For my taste, these are two of the best young horses I have ever seen and they are surely two of the best horses I have ever had in my career. I am really excited and very curious to see the results that our training will have upon them. It is certainly an exquisite collection right now, with these new ones as well as Lindner and Van the Man in the barn. I am really looking forward to go to the shows with horses of this caliber, and with horses of this quality in our stable I am confident that we will always have special FEI horses for sale in the future.'
Simply Nymphenburg, a coming six-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was a finalist at the Bundeschampionate at the age of 5 and finished third. 'He is a superstar young horse with all the potential for everything. He has developed very well, and I believe he will be even stronger as a six-year-old than he was as a five-year-old', Parra said. 'The icing on the cake is that Simply Nymphenburg is a beautiful dark bay.'
Parra's second new horse, Borett, also turning six-years-old, was undefeated in young horse classes in Holland. 'He is also amazing and beautiful. Borett is definitely a superstar in the making', he said. 'I am excited about the opportunity to train and ultimately show such amazing horses. I think that one can dream of anything with these two. I can really tell now how strong a team can get when they have strong supporters like Michael and Sarah Davis. One must be always grateful to the horse owners for their support and trust.'
Parra also has big dreams for the new Grand Prix horse, Van The Man, purchased for him by Michael and Sarah Davis. Parra and the Davis Family hope that Van The Man, a ten-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, will be able to partner with Parra to represent the United States as members of the 2012 US Olympic Team.
Parra is a veteran of the Olympics, having competed for Colombia in the 2004 Olympic Games. A former dentist in his native country of Colombia, Parra gave up his dental career to become one of Colombia's top international dressage riders. He was named the Colombian National Champion multiple times and competed in the 2006 World Equestrian Games for Colombia. In 2008 he became an Untied States citizen and has achieved great success riding for the United States.
